Today is the first day of a month long stint at The Comedy Studio. Every month there is a “Comic in Residence” and this month I am it. It’s a much coveted award for the newer comic such as myself. I’ll open every show Tuesday thru Sunday with my final show on New Year’s Eve. If you’ve read my previous blog entry, you might have noticed that I’m a bit panicky about it although for no good reason. I get panicky sometimes. I went to the Topsfield Fair this year and Mr. No Game and I went on the Ferris wheel at my request. Once we got to the top, the ride stopped, as Ferris wheels often do, and I panicked almost to the point of tears. I eventually relaxed like I always do and sat back and just enjoyed the ride. That’s where I am now.
So, today is December 1st and tonight is the first of twenty-five shows. It’s a great way to start my month because it’s a Thursday and the show is being hosted by a friend and one of my favorites, Sean Sullivan. He’s very funny and I always enjoy seeing him. So for this month I have a bit of a plan, having a full time day job and being out every night requires one. I’ll spare you from the boring details which include meal preparations, outfit selections and a hair schedule. I will let you know that I’ll be blogging everyday about the prior night’s show. There are some GREAT shows this month. Myq Kaplan and Micah Sherman will be recording a CD, The Walsh Brothers return for a weekend and some of my favorite comics will be performing throughout the month. There is also the annual Christmas show and to cap it all off The New Year’s Eve show. There might also be a spare entry or two about the holidays so stay tuned, it should be a great month and enjoy the ride!
