I’m taking a little trip to Texas. Just for a few days but I’ll have to fly there, rent a car and stay in a hotel. Easy enough but also enough to kick a little anxiety. I like to fly, no problem there. I’m not so good with directions so driving a round a foreign city is a bit daunting to me. I also don’t care for hotels…cleanliness issues. Then there is the packing. What to bring, what to wear. I’m not sure what the weather is like there let alone how people dress in Texas. I’ll be telling a few jokes while I’m there and so I have to pack for a show and 2 days of bumming around. Since it is my first trip to Texas the only fashion reference I have is TV and I doubt everyone walks around in cowboy boots and hats.
Then there is the joke telling part. I’m not so nervous about that. I’ll be telling the jokes that I know work, but will the cowboys like them? Perhaps my humor is only good in New England. I’ve only done one show outside of New England. It was in Atlanta and I was the only white-ish person in the place. I did alright but that’s a blog for another day.
I guess this will just be another test of what I can do. Well, off to pack…most likely over pack.
